Fabio Di Càsoal, from Lugano, Switzerland, wins in 1990 at the age of 23, the first price of the famous “Concours de Genève” – 18 years after the last time a clarinettist has won the first price. Soon after that he was invited to leading international festivals, for ex. the Berlin Festival under Claudio Abbado. In the press all his SONY recordings received very good critics and the Weber-CD was decorated with the ‘Editor’s Choice’ by the Gramophone Magazine. He is the artistic director of www.klang.ch, member of several chamber music ensembles, Professor at the ZHdK in Zurich and is regularly invited as jury member (in the past: ARD, Capri, Assisi, Bari and others).
